Fabric Story:
Walking into our ancient volcanos unique patterns and shapes have formed on the roofs, walls and floors of the lava tubes. This white shows calcium carbonate forms of 'Sedimentary Materials', Mixing with other minerals these patterns leach through the porous basalt with ground water and redeposited along the cracks and crevaises.
Leaving intricate trails and patterns of lava lines. Our mob used these volcanos for shelter as they were places to stay cool in the summer and light fires to keep warm in the winter.
All pieces are crafted and developed locally in Cairns by Cindy Hudson head seamstress (Jedess’ Mother). This allows Cindy and Jedess to ensure that each piece has high-quality workmanship.
Fabric selection – Tencel Linen. Sourced from an Australian fabric printer and supplier.
Impact - Tencel is a cellulose fibre made from wood pulp (which comes from sustainably grown forests), and because it is derived from a plant it is biodegradable.
It is less susceptible to odorous bacteria and is 50% more absorbent than cotton due to being breathable. The production process of this fabric has passed OEKO-TEX® certification.

Gentle machine wash and hang in the shade. Iron-friendly (warm-hot). When clothing is wet item will feel quite stiff. Wrinkle resistant.
